Half Day Excursion near Vientiane
Itinerary
• Improve your knowledge and weaving skills with this
weaving orientation class.
• Transfer to either the Phaeng Mai Gallery in Ban Nongbouathong
Tai village or the Houey Hong Vocational Textile Training
Center for Women.
• Enjoy the informative orientation regarding the history,
styles and processes of weaving from the cocoon, to harvesting
the silk, on to the dying process, the pattern making and
the weaving.
• Then proceed to the work areas to view each stage and
if possible participate in some activities.
• Then have fun working the loom and experience the weaving
process first hand, thus appreciating the high levels of skill
and energy required for this craft.
